POSITIVE MINDS WITH UDEVELOP
Our wonderful 6 week programme explores working with groups in a therapeutic way that is holistic and empathetic. Each session is completely different and provides the learners with opportunities to be calm and lose themselves in the activities.
Each activity is fun, innovative and engaging and provides the learners with opportunities to have a completely person centred approach which is beneficial for personal development.
Our first activity explores looking and visualising the future with opportunities and goals that you might want to include in the future. The board that is created is motivational and can give people the boost they may need for progression.
This next creative activity sees learners come and take part in a calm painting session which looks at decorating and losing yourself in a mindful painting task with a ceramic pot. Learners can create their own pots and get a seed or a bulb planted in it to look after and care for in the future. This helps psychologically and learners have their own plant to look after which enhances wellbeing.
Our next activity is Art therapy techniques which looks into finding the ideal emotion for the learners which can take them on a creative journey and provides them with some mindful moments that can help, shape and support future visions and also tackle with some internal emotions. Drawing and painting can take you on a cathartic experience which is overall rewarding and therapeutic!!
UDevelop like to work delivering activities with passion and enthusiasm and Caroline our CEO used to work with Diane at Avant Garden Centre who is massively influential about the growing world and horticulture. Our gardening session with Diane helps learners pick up new skills gardening and also provides them with handy tips for when they are at home.
Our last couple of sessions are for the group to take part in a community project to upcycle or make something for the community that is needed. Our recent groups have produced some amazing work. Check out the results below! They designed a mulch bin needed for the local community.
A huge thank you to the funding partners Chorley Council, Lancashire Integrated and South Cumbria integrated care board, Spring North and Places for People. We hope to have many more years of this successful programme running across the county.
